Ikea hack: my personal stool

Design, being it communication, product or interior design, involves people. People have different needs, desires, feelings, taste, experiences, cultural background, etc, etc.. Whatever we make/propose/realize is always for somebody. So part of our research before we start with a design project should concern the careful study of the people involved in our particular design task or problem. Three tools are particularly suited to get a better understanding of people: observation, interviewing and shadowing. An interior designer almost always works for a client or a target user. Getting to know who you work for is essential for the desired outcome of your design process.

This project/exhibition is part of the Interior and Furniture Design Degree, the joint program proposed by ESAD and Vilnius Design College, for international training of professionals who aim the development of innovative skills for the understanding and transformation of spaces as well as the learning of project tools related to architecture, equipment and furniture.
