The 5th edition of the ID Progress Show offers an exhibition of the final year students’ projects of the MA in Product Design in 2019/20.

The projects promote specialist knowledge and strengthen technical skills for creating, designing and developing innovative projects. Through integrated design and industrial processes and their interfaces, students gather sufficient knowledge to enter the job market.

The exhibition is on display at ESAD lobby and online.

PROJECT 03A — Amorim Top Series (ATS)
ATS manufactures a huge variety of bottle cork stoppers and packaging components for distilled spirits. This project objective is to design and develop three packaging components (bottle: capsule; neck; box) with sustainable materials, promoting hand-craft methods and incorporating luxurious finishes for a high-class market.

PROJECT 03B — Hamilton Conte (HC)
Hamilton Conte offers a complete range of luxury furniture that goes beyond typical geometrical design confines. The students were challenged to design luxury furnishings for people who occasionally work from home, seeking a compromise with transformation to accommodate home and work activities.

PROJECT 02 — Open-source Products
This project intends to explore creative ideas, by designing a product (furniture or lighting) that can be downloaded from the internet with 3D files and instructions. The proposal must have a genuine need, involve 3D printed components and clear instruction for transformation, assembly and use.

PROJECT 01A — Chicco (desall.com)
Chicco is a brand dedicated to the world of babies, offering specific and safe product solutions. The objective is to design a new collection of teethers consisting of 5 lines, offering the right solution for every stage of the baby’s teething needs. The lines should have a core theme, characterised by a unique and distinctive design.

PROJECT 01B — Millennial Seating
Seating products are represented by countless models, brands and companies as a specialist field, essential for the study of design’s history, icons and technical innovations. This project objective is to design a seat for the next millennial generation. The TRUFF was shortlisted for Guilherme Awards 2019.
