On the 6th May, Jeremy Aston (Coordinator for the Masters in Product Design) and his students Daniel Gonçalves e Joana Moreira were invited by BERNARDO DA COSTA to show their design work in SEGUREX (part of TEKTÓNICA), an international exhibition held in FIL, Lisbon.

During the first semester (2014/15) the students collaborated with BERNARDO DA COSTA to design and develop several proposals for advanced security systems. The resulting work was communicated and visualised in order to ‘hall-test’ and gain commercial ´feed-back’ from their clients, resellers and installers during the exhibition.

Ricardo Costa (CEO) and Engineer Sérgio Teles (CTO) from BERNARDO DA COSTA showed great interest in our collaboration and intend to further develop some of the design ideas in 2016. This is a great opportunity for the students to learn commercial and technical input about their work and the possibility to collaborate more closely in the future, both for their curricular and professional benefit.

In addition, the A-Touch product (Domestic Automation System), premiered in the exhibition and involved design consulting from Jeremy Aston and his associates from SIMPLI DESIGN, won the second prize INNOVATION AWARD organised by SEGUREX.
