Laura Gonçalves won the first prize and the audience award at the Zagreb Animated Film Festival, with the short animation film Trashman. The short film is also on the list of potential candidates for the Oscar nominations for best short film in this category.

Rubbish Man has the support of ESAD and the participation of the ADM 3'1 and 3'2 classes in the UC Post-Production Multimedia, with foley work (sound recording in studio). The production is about memories and recollections, based on the life story of Uncle Botão, who worked as an immigrant in France as a rubbish man.

This year, the Zagreb Animation Film Festival, dedicated only to animation cinema, received 1,800 films from 91 countries, half of them for the international competition, and only 47 were chosen to be shown in this section, including two Portuguese productions.

Founded in 1972, the Zagreb Animated Film Festival takes place from 6 to 11 June.
