The Italian architect Guido Morpurgo presents the conference 'The Memorial of the Shoah of Milan: an Urban Interior for the Present' at ESAD, within the Master’s Degree in Interior Design and in partnership with the Italian Institute of Culture in Portugal.
Guido Morpurgo has been working as an architect since 1991, developing small and large scale projects, national and international. Morpurgo graduated in Architecture from the Polytechnic of Milan, where he also obtained his PhD (1999) and where he is currently a professor. In 2006, he founded the studio Morpurgo de Curtis Architetti Associati with Annalisa de Curtis, who works mainly in the field of museography, residential construction and interior design. The studio's central design research work is the Memoriale della Shoah in Milan [The Memorial of the Shoah of Milan], which was awarded the “Gold Medal for Italian Architecture 2015” (national prize bestowed by the Triennale of Milan and the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage).
Among the recent works of the Morpurgo de Curtis Architetti Associati studio, we highlight a residential complex of 100 apartments in Pioltello (Milan, 2016) and the exhibitions’ design of Chagall and la Bibbia (Museo Diocesano de Milano, 2014-15), Comunità Italia (Triennale di Milano, 2015-16), Ma Poi, Che Cos'è un Nome (Triennale di Milano, 2018). Morpurgo is also an author, curator and lecturer.
The conference 'The Memorial of the Shoah of Milan: an Urban Interior for the Present', moderated by Maria Milano (Master's in Interior Design Coordinator, ESAD], will take place on January 29, at 5:00 PM, at ESAD auditorium. Free admission.
