The Glassberries Design Awards, the annual international glass packaging design competition, is inspired by the glass life cycle and based on four pillars: solid identity, creativity, innovation and sustainable development.
The challenge of 2018 was to create a new bottle for table wine and its packaging in corrugated cardboard, taking into account its development, time to market, industrial design and continuous improvement in customer service.
Farid Taher, student of the Degree in Product Design, was the big winner of the contest, with the Mojonello project. A conical bottle with a textured surface, designed for green and white wine, inspired by the concepts of lightness and freshness of the wines of the north of Portugal.
ESAD was also among the previous winners of the Glassberries Awards. In 2015 the students Teresa Soares and Cláudia Baltarejo won the 2nd and 3rd Prizes. In 2016, Emma Hayward, won an honorable mention in the contest, as well as João Kunsler and Eduardo Correia in 2017.
