The workshop conducted by the designer Fernando Brízio, under the theme The Journey, focused on a series of unprecedented objects, produced by students, exploring the process of auto-production as primordial and conditioning feature regarding the shape or configuration presented in the final object. The workshop was hosted at ESAD on November 12 and 13 in 2015, and January 4 and 7 in 2016.
This is one of the three workshops integrated in the module The Reinvented Object, with the curatorship of Maria Milano. It was hosted during the preparing process of the Portuguese participation at the Milan Triennial in 2016, within ESAD’s Master in interior Design.
Fernado Brízio has a degree in Product Design by Faculdade de Belas Artes de Lisboa, city where he lives and works. He has been developing both industrially produced objects and limited handcrafted series, while also working on exhibitions, sets, and both interior and exterior spaces for companies and other organizations. He coordinates the Master in Industrial Design at ESAD.CR, and has taught at École Cantonal d'Art de Lausanne and Taatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe. He regularly participates in countless conferences and juries in Portugal and abroad and has exhibited and published both nationally and internationally.
