Students create packaging of the future for limiano and terra nostra

Alexandre Campelo, Joana Alves, Mariana Guedes and Laia Sanchez, students of the Degree in Communication Design, won the Terra Nostra Prize, the Terra Nostra Honorable Mention, the Limiano Prize and the Limiano Honorable Mention, respectively, within the scope of the competition Packing the Futuro, promoted by BEL Portugal.

Bel Portugal owns the Limiano and Terra Nostra brands, which have been part of the Portuguese eating habits for generations. The competition aimed to find sustainable packaging solutions for both brands, based on a creative exercise that starts from the brand identity and product identity characteristics to explore new concepts, functions and forms of packaging.

Mariana Guedes and Alexandre Campelo won over the jury with their projects and received a scholarship worth 2,000 euros to invest in their training. Honorable mentions were also awarded to Joana Alves and Laia Sanchez.

The Embalar o Futuro competition projects were evaluated by a jury made up of Paula Amaral (BEL Portugal), Margarida Azevedo (ESAD Teacher), Joana Rivotti (Sair da Casca) and Manuel Andrade (Monteiro Ribas).

The awards ceremony, which took place on the 14th of June, at the ESAD auditorium.
