As part of the evaluation process of the National Research System developed by FCT — Foundation for Science and Technology, the esad—idea Research on Design and Art (ESAD/College of Art and Design's research centre) was evaluated by an international panel, having obtained the classification of Very Good.

The panel of assessors was composed of Hans Brezet (Technical University Delft), De Ruyck Stefann (Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp), Lily Diaz-Kommonen (The Humans Aalto University) and Daan van Eijk (Technical University Delft).
