Friday, 27 April, will be a big day for designers and for ESAD: the school promotes the 3rd edition of World Graphics Day, bringing together some of the leading Portuguese designers, a great celebration of graphic design.

This is the creation date of Icograda - International Council of Graphic Design Associations and ESAD brings together 30 designers / design studios, celebrating not only the vitality and diversity of the Portuguese graphic design but also promoting a discussion forum of ideas and processes, around the power and responsibility of design, which states itself as an ideological reaction in the times of crisis. This third edition of World Graphics Day takes place at ESAD, in Matosinhos, and is based on brief presentations of 20 images x 20 seconds x 30 designers, starting at 2.30pm.

The event is curated by José Bártolo, President of the Scientific Committee of ESAD. Admission is free, subject to the capacity of the room.

This day is also marked by the launch of the 2nd and 3rd editions of PLI arte & design magazine, whose motto is Enthusiasm. On 27 April is also the inauguration of the exhibition ULM – Método e Design 1953/68 in espaço Quadra at the Mercado Municipal de Matosinhos.

Note also the award ceremony of the Caixa Geral de Depósitos Contest for personalize the national university student card.
