Nuno Valentim (Oporto, 1971) is graduated in Architecture from the Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade do Porto (FAUP) in 1995 and has a Mastera in Restoration of Heritage Buildings from the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (2007), with the dissertation Reabilitação de Caixilharias de Madeira no Edificado Corrente Portuense do Séc. XIX e Início do Séc. XX.

He is a professor at FAUP since 2005 in the areas of construction / restoration and is currently developing his thesis in the restoration area for the PhD Program in Architecture of this Faculty. He works professionaly in the areas of rehabilitation and architecture since 1994 and has several works and projects displayed and published nationally and internationally. He is one of the co-authors of Manual de Apoio à Reabilitação de Edifícios Antigos, coordinated by Vasco Peixoto de Freitas.

He was finalist on the following awards: Prémio Enor 2007 (Capela do CREU-IL, Oporto), Prémios FAD 2009 (Centro de Apoio a Imigrantes São Cirilo e Edifícios de Escritórios , Oporto) and Prémio ENOR 2011 (Pavilhão de Acolhimento da Escola Francesa do Porto).

Another projects: restoration of Centro Dehoniano (2002), restoration of Bairro de Lordelo (2005), restoration of Palácio da Bolsa do Porto (2007), enlargement of Liceu Francês do Porto (2007), restoration of a building for the Atelier des Créateurs (2008) and restoration and adjustment of Casa Andresen and the greenhouse of Jardim Botânico do Porto (2010).

This year he received the mention Higly Commended of the WAN Awards 21 for 21 (21 Architects for the 21stcentury), due to the work of his office.

Nuno Valentim presents at ESAD the lecture Projecto e Obra Preexistente.
