The walkways of the Matosinhos coastline, requalified in 2009 by the Matosinhos City Hall and ESAD, are one of the scenarios of the series Santiago, the new bet of Opto, SIC streaming platform.

The series, created by Diogo Brito, Inês Braga and César Mourão, tells the story of a family that starts the Santiago path to find themselves spiritually again. On the way, they meet other pilgrims of different nationalities and end up facing a serial killer.

The recordings in Matosinhos took place in July, with a cast that involves actors from six different nationalities, including the Portuguese Lúcia Moniz, Ivo Canelas, Carla Maciel, Bárbara Branco and Leonor Vasconcelos.

The series premiere took place on 21 October.
