
Three projects developed by ESAD are part of the Portuguese selection for the 4th Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño, organized by Fundación Diseño Madrid.
A Máquina de Contar Histórias (Storytelling Machine), by the student Joana Cunha, in the category of Product Design, is one of the finalist projects. It is a scenography device that allows exploring new forms of tale animation, helping in a more consistent and stimulating way the libraries, bookstores or schools. Although it is submitted in the Product Design category, it is the product of a MA thesis in Interior Design of ESAD.
A Liberdade Da Imagem: Design e Comunicação Visual em Portugal (1947-1986) [The Freedom of the Image: Design and Visual Communication in Portugal (1947-1986)] is an exhibition promoted by the Portuguese Government and by ESAD within the Celebrations of the 40 years of the 25th of April and of the 2014/15 programme of the Year of the Portuguese Design. It is also among the finalists of the Biennial in the category of Graphic Design and Visual Communication. The graphic image of the exposition is by João Faria/Drop.
One last note for the participation on the Biennial, equally in the category of Graphic Design and Visual Communication, of the critic reflection magazine on contemporary design practice PLI arte & design, promoted by ESAD, which has just launched its most recent number dedicated to the theme Production. The graphic image is by Inês Nepomuceno, with edition of José Bártolo and Sérgio Afonso.
The works will be presented in the exhibition Imaginación Colectiva, from 25th to 29th November at Central de Diseño Matadero Madrid.
