Every year ESAD ID Talks organise a series of conferences at ESAD with prestigious national and international designers, who share their professional experiences and present the behind the scenes aspects of their projects and processes. This cycle of conferences and workshops is part of the programme of the Master's Degree in Product Design and the Postgraduate Degrees in Mobility Design and Furniture Design.

Hugo Vaz

Hugo Vaz is an industrial designer and teacher. From a very young age, he grew up in an environment of art and design, developing his creative skills. He completed his degree in Product Design at ESAD, has a postgraduate degree in Furniture Design at ESEIG/ Porto Polytechnic, and has also has a Master's in Design from ESMAD/ Porto Polytechnic, where he currently teaches. Hugo Vaz is also co-founder and creative director of Muski Design Studio.

Alejandro Velasco

Alejandro Velasco is an industrial designer, who has gone digital over the years, taking advantage of skills acquired in user-centred design and due to his interests in technology and digital image rendering. He has been working in the user interface field for almost a decade. In the past, he has worked for Milano based design studio Deepdesign, helping create furniture for clients like Serralunga, and building office furniture in China.

Melanie McClintock

Melanie McClintock is a multi-disciplinary designer, artist and educator. She has worked in the fashion industry for over two decades (United States, Qatar and Indonesia). She taught fashion design and led a cross-cultural vocational programme to promote innovation in textiles and ceramics. She is a partner in PiCoDe, an international collective that aims to define best practices in preparing students for industry.
