Fashion Photography

COSTAMENDES and Rui Aguiar

COSTAMENDES, a project exclusively dedicated to fashion, through a dynamic multidisciplinary work between photography and video, and Rui Aguiar, who collaborates in editorial projects and advertising photography with renowned national and international brands, present the conference Fashion Photography.

COSTAMENDES is a collaborative project, dedicated to fashion, by Duarte Costa and Liliana Mendes, which was born in 2012. COSTAMENDES is essentially based on a dynamic multidisciplinary work between photography and video. Among its work, we highlight the long collaboration with Por Vocação and the campaigns developed for Buttero, Decenio, Fly London, Dos Santos, Softinos and Foreva. Liliana Mendes graduated in Communication Design and later complemented her interest in photography with training at the Portuguese Institute of Photography. Duarte Costa has experience in film and visual arts, focusing on different themes of sound and image.

Rui Aguiar graduated in Fashion Photography and, since then, collaborates in editorial projects for the main Portuguese fashion magazines (Vogue, Elle, Máxima and GQ ), as well as in advertising photography for renowned brands' campaigns (Vodafone, Betclic, Moda LX, Credibom) and in the elaboration of the lookbooks of creators such as Alexandra Moura, Lidija Kolovrat and Moreco. Besides that, he teaches Fashion Photography and Advertising at ETIC and works as Director of Photography for films, having been nominated, several times, for best photographer in the areas of Fashion and Advertising. He was the first national photographer to receive an honorable mention in the prestigious Fuji Press Award, in the Fashion category.

Fashion Styling and Production

Tânia Dioespirro and Miguel Amaral Vieira

The first guests are Tânia Dioespirro, freelancer in styling and creative direction, and Miguel Amaral Vieira, with experience in marketing direction, copywriting, branding and press relations.

They present the conference Styling and Fashion Production, exploring the process of creating fashion images and everything around them, from the media and channels for which they are intended to the production schedule, looks’ organisation, selection of photographer and models, hair stylist, makeup artist, among several other strategic aspects behind the perfect images.

Tânia Dioespirro studied Industrial Design at Lusíada and Communication Design ate ESAD and then she decided to direct her technical skills to create and communicate fashion. She currently works as a freelancer in styling and creative direction, collaborating with publications such as Cosmopolitan KZ, L'Officiel NL and Glamour Brasil, or brands like Tiffosi, Buzina and Lion Of Porches.

Miguel Amaral Vieira has a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto and he’s a postgraduate in Marketing Management from Porto Business School. His passion for fashion led him to change his career path, launching the blog and consulting company Beyond Fabric. He has worked for over a decade in the fashion industry, in Marketing Direction, Copywriting, Branding and Press Relations. He is a stylist and street style photographer, collaborating with several international magazines. He has across-the-board experience in the fashion industry, from production to retail, having worked with companies such as André Costa SA, Farfetch, Lisbon School of Design, The Feeting Room, Norwegian Rain, Wrong Weather or Ambitious.
