Emílio remelhe 2014

Keep at hand what you’ve got close to you. We all speak, read, write. Everyday we use language to think, express, communicate. With a lot, little or none awareness, we keep connected to it and through it: to the ideas, to the people, to the objects, to the places. The language is an instrument, a probe, an interface, a means of transportation. Using it is acting and an action is never neutral: it modifies, transforms, reinvents. But what do we do with what we think, with what we read, with what we say, with what we write? Emílio Remelhe

In this workshop the students will be able to act, react and interact – in the context of the project – in the opportunity to exercise and reflect about the use of language in favor of process.

Emílio Remelhe develops activity within the areas of visual arts and literature using several pseudonymous. He is graduated in Plastic Arts and has a MA in Practice and Theory of Drawing from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto. He teaches the curricular disciplines of Creative Writing and Illustration at ESAD. He has been orienting workshops to diverse audiences in collaboration with institutions, such as the Rectoral Board of the University of Porto, CCB or the public and academic network of libraries. His pseudonymous Eugénio Roda has been nominated by the Portuguese Society of Authors to the Authors Prize 2010 in the category of literature for childhood.

This workshop comes within the programme of the Communication Design MA 2014/2015, coordinated by Andrew Howard.
