The contemporary jewels reinvent themselves as communication interfaces. They fulfil an aesthetic task, not only to be seen, but also to think about it. Include messages about multiple aspects of daily life and refer and comment the world we live in. They cite jewellery itself, contributing to think about their identity under constant reconstruction.
In this project the Jewellery students were involved in a new communicative task. They meet food, knowing that cookery is now among the most surprising arts. It is no longer manufacture of edible, it has also joined science to make people think. It is close to life and on the table creates vital human relationships.
In this project there are dialogues about issues of the present and, involving two of the oldest relational areas of mankind, searches for reconfigurations. Each jewel has an edible part and another one that remains as a memory of its communicative intention. This project consists in small activities and exhibitions that will take place on 14 June in the Bar/Cafeteria of ESAD.
