DESIGNAgorà is a biannual documentary film cycle dedicated to design and architecture, created and realized by ASCIP Dante Alighieri, in collaboration with the Rectory of the University of Porto and with the support of the Directorate-General of Arts. Under the motto LI(ea)VING UTOPIA, it has an international program of short, medium and feature films.

ESAD is one of the four higher education institutions invited to participate in the second edition of the event, contributing to the UTOPIA Studio, in which students are challenged to produce short films around the main theme of the event.

The students of the Degree in Digital and Multimedia Arts, developed in the curricular units of Analysis and Criticism of Contemporary Media, Multimedia Narratives and Multimedia Production, 9 micro animation and fiction films based on the seminal work History of Utopias, by Lewis Mumford, in a process of dichotomic search through the image register subordinated to the central theme the city is a world: the prolongation of the narrative itself, the look and the other in today's society.

It's also important to mention that the artistic direction of the project is by Francesca Vita, a teacher at ESAD, as well as the graphic design, done by Elias Marques and Sérgio Correia/ T.I.N.A, both teachers at the school.
