On the past September 30th, ESAD promoted the launch of the book Design & Development: 40 years later, edited in Brasil by Blucher, with the coordination of Gabriel Patrocínio and José Mauro Nunes.

Gabriel Patrocínio is a designer, with a PhD in Public Policy and José Mauro Nunes is a psychologist, with a PhD in Psychology; both lecturers at the University do Estado do Rio de Janeiro.

In the context of the work developed by both authors at the Multidisciplinary Institute of Human lu Education with Technologies and in the Laboratory of Design Policies, this work was prepared by combining some of the most important authors in the area of design with the knowledge of economists and specialists in consumption. The book approaches new perspectives for the discussion of the design theme from different points of view, from its contribution in the scope of the economy to its application in the management and development of public policies.
