TAILORDROP Tânia Nicole
The origin of skateboard in USA was the starting point for the conception of this collection. The 60s, the men in classic suits going down the streets of NYC with their wooden skateboards, influenced the silhouette and the details of the pieces. Besides that, the jackets without collar made popular by the Beatles are the basis of the creation of the collection’s jackets. The most contemporaneous and sportive side of the skate universe that we see now at skate parks downtown take us to more geometrical forms and to pieces with sportive details. The manhole covers in the cities are the support for the creation of geometrical patterns and knit stitches with a 60s look, as well as the contrasting colorful ribbons that give to the collection a sportive side. The grey tons of modern cities are an influence to the color palette, as well as the yellow of the American cabs.

NO SIGNAL David Catalán
No Signal is a collection with a strong aesthetic related to the media and technology. The technology and its evolution in time bring vulnerability, mistakes, lost of signal. This technological inconvenience emerges as the direction and the meaning of this collection. The noisy patterns move away from the black and white and dye the pieces with red, different tons of red, creating a chromatic chronology that join a fuel stamp and copper ton, bringing again the technology. The interfering signal – the result of digital corruption and the effects of divergence of sections of damaged images – influences the form of each piece. The collection is completed with small details printed in 3D of electric plugs with elastic wires, giving volume to the pieces.

BALANCE Catarina Oliveira
Balance is the result of the conflict between emotion and reason. What controls our actions? Does one really control the impulses or are the instincts that overlap to reason? The collection explores this inner conflict of the individual and the way it shapes the behavior and affects the invididualo existence. Balance is also a representation of rupture, of breaking the boundaries imposed either by the individual itself as by the society.
