Under the slogan Do it Yourself, the Sardines Contest 2017, promoted by EGEAC – Equipment Management and Cultural Animation Company, part of Lisbon’s Municipal City Hall, expanded its imagination, without restrictions regarding techniques or materials.
According to the organization, thousands of proposals were received, sent from about 60 countries, from Afghanistan to Burma, Canada or Singapore.
The jury, composed by Jorge Silva, the father of the sardine, Joana Stichini Vilela, José Mendes, Fernando Alvim and a representative from EGEAC, elected the five winning sardines from this year’s contest.
Ana Melo, ex-student from Advanced Studies in Illustration and Digital Animation, coordinated by José Saraiva, was one of the winners, with the project Fanfarra.
