Melanie Melo and Cátia Abreu, students of the Degree in Fashion Design, won the competition launched by McDonald's in partnership with CITEVE to create a new image of McDonald's Portugal, aimed at students of Design and Fashion, technicians and young designers.
Under the theme cultivate, arises from the need to prepare a more balanced, healthy and happy future: the concept of the winning pair was based on details inspired by sport, in gardening and in comfort and fun, in the perspective of the reuse of materials. Details of bellows pockets refer us to bags of support of homemade cultivation pots; graphic elastic, vivid, ribbed mesh details and flatlock finishes reinforced the sporty side.
Approximately 6500 employees of the 166 McDonald's restaurants in Portugal, will wear the design of the two students. The prize also included the allocation of the amount of 5,000 euros.
The coordination of the project and the accompaniment of the students belonged to the designer Maria Gambina.
