ADDICT and his associated J. P. Cruz conceived, for 2013, a specific programme about intellectual property, perceived as the tool, par excellence, of the safeguarding and the valuation of the creative act.

At the moment, given the globalization and the new information and communication technologies, the professionals are faced with the dilemma of the protection of individual rights versus creative freedom and competition, and it is extremely important to define a competitive strategy.

The programme will be divided in 4 sessions, in a question and answer format and in post labor hours. The first session will take place in May 23 2013, between 6 and 8 p.m., at Fábrica de Santo Thyrso. The guests will be Alexandra Fonseca, from ConsulArte – Assessoria Legal para as Artes, and Mário Marques, from J. Pereira da Cruz, S.A. and Maria Gambina, Fashion Designer and coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design at ESAD.

It will focus on the issues surrounding fashion design, regarding the registration of designs, copyright and protective measures (brands, patents, industrial secrets and new business models).
