As part of the CINANIMA - Espinho International Animation Film Festival, where renowned names in film, animation and illustration pass through every year, Priit Tender presents the masterclass Dog Apartment - The Creative Process.

The masterclass includes a screening of his latest stop motion film, Dog Apartment, and a detailed insight into the creative process behind the idea, development and production of the film at Nukufilm studios. The director will also give a brief overview of animated film production in Estonia and will be available for discussion and questions from the audience.

Priit Tender (born 1971) is an award-winning filmmaker who has written, conceived and directed more than 20 animated films. He has collaborated with Estonia's most notable animation studios, including Eesti Joonisfilm and Nukufilm, and has made several films in 2D and traditional stop motion techniques. His latest film, which will be screened at the masterclass, is actively circulating at film festivals and has so far won more than 20 awards, including the Grand Prix (and Oscar qualification) at the Stuttgart International Animation Festival; BEST of the FESTIVAL AWARD, at the London International Animation Festival; BEST ANIMATION AWARD, at the Tampere Film Festival; the GRAND PRIZE, at the MONSTRA Animation Festival in Lisbon, among others.

The masterclass will take place on 13 November at 11:00 am, in person (ESAD auditorium) and online, and is open to the entire school community and anyone interested, especially students of the Degree in Digital Arts and Multimedia.

This extension of CINANIMA at ESAD is part of the partnership between the two institutions and is part of the programme for the 47th edition of the festival, which takes place in Espinho from 13 to 19 November.
