ESAD is taking part in the 9th edition of the BID - Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño, one of the most important design events of our time, with the participation of lecturers Margarida Azevedo and João Lemos and students Minna Miná Rolim and Beatriz Barros.
The event aims to work as a platform and network of lecturers, universities, teaching centres, design students and professionals. It is a space for reflection and debate about the formation of the discipline. From November 22 to 24, it will present to the public the whole spectrum of design connected to training through exhibitions, conferences, lectures and debates.
Margarida Azevedo and João Lemos, ESAD lecturers, will take part in the Forum Teaching Innovation, by reflecting on the designer's commitment to the complex challenges and possibilities posed by the general aging of the population. Students Minna Miná Rolim and Beatriz Barros integrate the Student Show - exhibition of panels and physical objects, with the projects Tipobicho - Graphic design in the construction of a ludic tool for children's literacy and Behind mishmash® - A deep dive into a pathway worth walking.
Tipobicho was one of the 50 projects selected to be part of the BID exhibition at the Central de Diseño de Matadero Madrid, from 22 November until the end of January.
On this occasion, the Declaration on Design Education (Declaración Sobre La Enseñaza de Diseño) was also signed. In addition to ESAD, other design professionals, research centers and universities that participated in this 9th edition of the BID signed this declaration for the joint promotion of the open debate on design.
