
The promotion of Portuguese creativity abroad done by independent projects represents an huge effort in difficult markets like Germany, China or UK. The entrepreneurship and passion of those project promoters allowed that their spaces to become small effective embassies of Portuguese culture and creativity. In a symbolic support to their initiative, ESAD asked students and ex-students a small typographic exercise around those shops names. The result will be displayed on each shop/gallery in Berlin.
In Portuguese Paz D'Alma means a peaceful soul; a person that radiates light. The shop was created by Ana Santos and is a window to the vibrant world of contemporary Portuguese art and design, presenting wide a range of designer and artisanal objects lovingly crafted under the sunny, blue skies of the Iberian Peninsula. Paz D'Alma is an invitation to discover the design powerhouse that is modern Portugal. Their collection features creations by both renowned designers and young artists, combining innovative design with ancient Lusitanian artisan techniques.
Coordinated by Emanuel Barbosa e Elias Marques, the projects was made by Alexandre Vilas Boas, Ana Costa, Ana Noversa, André Pimentel, André Silva, Andreia Barbosa, Cátia Santos (Pinxai), Cristina Ribeiro, David Afonso, Eugénio Bulhosa, Inês Peres, Joana Oliveira, Júlio Oliveira, Marcílio Cabral, Nuno Carvalho, Pais da França, Sofia Miranda e Xesta Studio.
