The 2nd edition of the ANOZERO – Biennial of Contemporary Art of Coimbra, with the theme Heal and Repair, curated by Delfim Sardo and Luiza Teixeira de Freitas, launched a challenge to the students of Fashion Design: to developed a research where the interpretation of the theme Heal and Repair allowed them to create a proposal of a mini collection, that included the t-shirt of the Bienal staff and pieces of merchandising.

With the guidance of Maria Gambina, coordinator of the Degree in Fashion Design, the students conducted a research from which the interpretation of the theme "Heal and Repair" allowed them to create a proposal of a mini collection, that included the t-shirt of the staff and pieces of merchandising for the Biennial of Coimbra.

Ana Sarmento, Ana Sousa, Andreia Barros, Andreia Costa, Catarina Figueiredo, Catarina Teixeira, Catarina Valente, Daniela Gomes, Diana Trigueira, Emanuela Rios, Filipe Ferreira, Joana Alves, Joana Braga, Laura Martin Torres, Maria Inês Alves, Maria Meira, Marisa Farinha, Marta Navarrete, Rita Sá, Sara Gil de Gómez Rodríguez, Teresa Barbosa and Vânia Sá responded to the general theme proposed with the use of innovative materials, creative details and contemporary technical finishes, with the objective of associating the authorial dimension with viability of production.

The projects of Ana Sarmento and Filipe Ferreira have won honourable mentions, but it is up to the winning project, Joana Braga, to dress the production team of AnoZero'17. From this project will also appear new pieces of merchandising for the biennial.

All of these proposals are part of the exhibition Dressing 'Heal and Repair' exhibited in the Department of Architecture/College of Arts of the University of Coimbra, ensuring a dialogue between these two design disciplines.
