AMP METROLAB aims to be a marathon of technological co-creation that brings together diverse talents - from programmers to researchers, from journalists to designers, to municipalities, startups or established companies - and aims at developing innovative ideas and solutions for a set of challenges currently facing the Metropolitan Area of ​​Porto and the municipalities that integrate it.

Innovative solutions and ideas to be presented in the HACKATON category are included in three themes / areas of metropolitan intervention, considered strategic: Quality of Life, Mobility and Smart Cities, Tourism and Leisure.

Monetary awards are given to the three most innovative ideas and solutions that are likely to have the greatest impact in the territory of the Metropolitan Area of ​​Porto, which are developed and presented for each of the strategic areas of intervention, for a total of 9 prizes. The three best ranked proposals in each strategic domain also benefit from specialized support to support prototyping, transformation and development of ideas and solutions and their consolidation at the business model level.
