Born in Italy but based in Portugal, Alex Gozblau has been developing a diverse body of work in the area of the illustration.

In addition to his work in illustration for children’s books and the Portuguese Press (Público, O Independente, Sábado, Expresso, Ícon, Livros, Ler e Visão), he has been doing several projects in the areas of painting, graphic design for different publishers, animated film (including plots), comic books and advertising.

He has also been exploring other areas like theatre, soundtracks and radio. He has already held several solo exhibitions and his work has been awarded by the Criativos de Portugal, by the Society for News Design EUA and by the Society for News Design Ibéria. In 2009 he was awarded the Stuart Carvalhais Award for Press Drawing, sponsored by Casa da Imprensa and by El Corte Inglés.

This conference is a part of the LeV \ Literatura em Viagem 2013 programme, an event organized by the Câmara Municipal de Matosinhos, from 24 to 26 of May, at the Florbela Espanca library, which consists of exhibitions, conferences, launchings and a book fair.
