Researching and designing new vehicle proposals, with reference to future trends in automotive design and the experience that Jaguar has achieved in the last 100 years, are some of the premises of the challenge to students of the Post Graduation in Automotive and Transportation Design by ESAD, under the project Advanced Jaguar 2040 - Leaping Into the Future.

According to the latest trends in the automotive industry, the next generation of vehicles will be electric and will present various levels of computer driving assistance, providing more sustainable mobility, greater comfort and safety. Jaguar produces some of the most innovative vehicles on the road; from the revolutionary type E to the well-known XJS, James Bond's C-X75, to the latest PACE range, including the award-winning I-PACE.

Investigating electric vehicles, new technologies and materials, as well as types of mobility and autonomous driving, were the starting point for the project.

The students visited JOP Jaguar's showrooms in Porto for a better perception of the brand. Conceptual sketches, renderings and directions, 3D studies, foam models, shapes, surfaces and components, clay models and rendering in a workshop with designer Boris Fabris, which took place on February 25 on 1 March, at ESAD.

As part of this project, a lecture will be held with Paulo Ribeiro (Commercial Director at JOP Jaguar), on May 3, at 2:15 pm, at ESAD's auditorium. Present will also be the designer Boris Fabris to evaluate the works, conceptual sketches, renderings and models, by 15:30 pm.
