
The former lecturer in the course of Interior Design, Prof. Cláudia Albina, presents, on December 12, at ESAD, À Procura de Práticas Sábias. Design e Artesanato na Significação dos Territórios, the resulting book from her doctoral thesis.
Claudia Albina, currently a professor at the University of Aveiro, has a PhD in Design since 2015, with the theme: "The senses of Places. Valuation of the identity of the territory by design ", Master in Design and Marketing, in 2001, by the University of Minho and a degree in Architecture, by the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto in 1989.
The book presentation will be made by Prof. Antonino Jorge and includes a mini-conference, given by the author, with audio-visual support on some of the contents of the book, which also counts on the participation of Dr. Luís Rocha, director of CEARTE and publisher of the publication.
The book intends to understand how Design, as meta discipline with transdisciplinary aptness, can be constituted as useful knowledge for the creation and dissemination of new practices, that transmit the distinctive values ??of the territory, making it present, resorting to handicrafts, while identity factor as the reading key. À Procura de Práticas Sábias. Design e Artesanato na Significação dos Territórios is the survey and analysis of the main approaches to the partnership between Crafts and Design, carried out in the last 25 years in Portugal, in a total of 35 projects, in which the intervention is visible, direct or indirect, of CEARTE, with extreme importance for the development of the territories.
