The silkscreen is a printing process which has a consolidated use of ink technique. The project developed by the students of the curricular discipline Graphic Production consists in exploring the less conventional materials, such as toothpaste, detergent, coffee, among others, and their potential as substitutes to ink in the silkscreen printing process.
It is a research process with a strong experimental component, and its goal is to observe the effects that the materials create when they contact with the silkscreen and paper, as well as their evolution along the time.
The students Gustavo Silva, Inês Martins, Rodrigo Calheiros and Teresa Morais, of the class 3 of the 3rd grade in Communication Design Bachelor course developed the project that is now in exhibition at the hall of ESAD. The project has been oriented by the professor Susana Fernando and the silkscreen technician Catarina Lopes.
