The Urban Bioregion - Small Treatise On The territory, Common Good, by Alberto Magnaghi, enlarges and reshapes contents addressed by the author in previous publications. In this book, the territory is portrayed as our greater good, although the consequent degradation of urbanization leads us to several socio-environmental dilemmas, which determine the emerging need for activities that aim to redesign the relations between urban evolution and the environment.
It is through this concern that Maghaghi questions about how we think the territory. After the exodus to the megacities, it focuses on the preoccupation with its reterritorialization, in self-sustaining ways.
Alberto Maghaghi, architect and town planner, is Professor at the University of Florence, where he directs the Laboratorio di Progettazione Ecologica degli Insediamenti (LAPEI). He is also President of the multidisciplinary association Società dei Territorialisti and founder of the Scuola Territorialista Italiana. Among the published works stand out, for example, The Common Well Territory and The Local Project: For the Awareness of the Place.
The launch of the book will take place at ESAD Idea on October 20 at 5:00 p.m.
