Celebrating 40 years of existence, The National Museum of Costume, after considering the young generations of creators and, with ModaLisboa and Selectiva Moda Association, decided to create a presentation with a few new names that make up the constellation of young fashion designers.
ESAD is among the invited creators, with 6 ex-students from de Degree in Fashion Design: Beatriz Bettencourt, Carolina Machado, Catarina Oliveira, Cláudia Garrido, Mariana Almeida and Olimpia Davide.
According to Clara Vaz Pinto, the museum director, the purpose of this initiative is to recognize the contemporaneity in the attire: the creation and the world where it is involved, the quality and conditions in which it materializes, the innovation and modernity in which it is inscribed, and how it is inscribed in our tastes, styles and cultures. Two in one: the future in the place of memory.
