Special Applications
The Special Admissions Procedures are aimed at:
- Holders of a Technological Specialization Course;
- Holders of a Higher Professional Technical Course.
- Holders of Other Higher Education Courses.
Students covered by the International Student Statute, according to Decree-Law no. 62/2018 of August 6, which amends and republishes the international student statute published by Decree-Law no. 36/2014 of March 10 and amended by Decree-Law no. 113/2014 of July 16, cannot apply via the Special Admissions Procedures.

Applications for ESAD courses are made on a pedagogical management platform, and the process of submitting information and documents can be done remotely or in person at the school's academic services.

Holders of a Technological Specialisation Diploma or holders of a Higher Professional Technical Diploma
Holders of a Technological Specialization Diploma or holders of a Higher Professional Technical Diploma may apply:
- The curriculum of the technological specialization course (CET) or Higher Professional Technician Course (CTESP) must be compatible, namely in the scientific area, with the degree course to which they are applying.
- Meet the prerequisites for admission to ESAD degree courses.
Ranking of candidates
The selection criteria for holders of a Technological Specialization Diploma or holders of a Higher Professional Technical Diploma are in order of preference:
- Scientific area of the course of origin;
- Course average.
For tie-breaking purposes, preference will be given to having been awarded the qualification at a less recent date.
Holders of Diplomas in Other Higher Education Courses
Diploma holders from other higher education courses who cumulatively:
- Hold a Bachelor's, Licentiate's, Master's or Doctorate degree.
- Meet the prerequisites for admission to ESAD's degree courses.
Ranking of Candidates
Each candidate is given a score on a scale of 0 to 10 and ranked in descending order according to the final score achieved (FP).
The following scoring criteria will be considered when ranking candidates:
- Level of Degree (PF1) - Doctorate, Master's, Licentiate or Baccalaureate) - maximum 4 points.
- Field of study (PF2) - maximum 6 points.
The final score (PF) will be obtained from the sum (PF1 + PF2) of the scores obtained.
For the Degree Level, the score (PF1) to be awarded is: Doctorate Holder - 4 points; Master's Degree Holder - 3 points; Bachelor's Degree Holder - 2 points. Bachelor's degree holder - 1 point.
The score for the Area of Study (PF2) will be based on the scientific area of the course taken and compatibility with the degree course applied for. In the event of a tiebreaker, the candidate with the most recent degree will be given preference.
